Jessica received her undergraduate degree in Special Education from Bowling Green State University in 2012. After graduation, she began her career as a special education teacher at Charles County Public Schools in Maryland, then relocated to Fairfax County Public Schools in Virginia. In 2017, she received her graduate degree in Educational Leadership with a concentration in Special Education Leadership from George Mason University. In 2023, Jessica received her graduate certificate in Applied Behavior Analysis from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology.

Jessica has held educational leadership roles throughout her teaching career, such as Local Screening Chair (committee member in qualifying students for special services) and Special Education Lead (overseeing the special education department). She teaches various students with disabilities and implements research-based reading interventions. Jessica has successfully case managed, mentored, and tutored students with dyslexia to ensure their academic success. As a continuing educator of 13 years she works with many students who demonstrate emotional regulation, anxiety, depression, and stress challenges. She has a passion for supporting these students and finding innovative strategies and techniques to target their area(s) of need and for them to transform into resilient individuals. This passion inspired Jessica to become a certified and licensed Resilience Building Mentor and Certified Coherence Intervention Practitioner through the HeartMath Institute. Jessica’s certifications through the institute allow her to teach students and adults research-based scientific techniques to improve their overall self-regulation and performance through heart coherence.
